MST3K sucks!
The host's name is Mark, has a mobile gumball machine as a companion, they are watching a stupid, obviously recently-made movie (on video, not film, much lower budget than even B-flicks) and making even dumber comments about it . It's contrived, too.

This must have been the final season as, by purport, MST3K is supposed to be funny.

1. Everyone agrees, Joel leaving was the jump the shark moment
For MST3K.

When it was at peak, it was the greatest.

7. That's a steaming load of crap
EVERYONE doesn't agree, because I and many others happen to prefer Mike to Joel. And Trace and Frank leaving wasn't that bad either, because Bill Corbett was fucking hilarious, and I like his Crow better than Trace's.

There was nothing wrong with the Sci Fi era MST3K, other than the fact that SciFi gave it a shitty time slot and never promoted it until the final episode.

9. exactly. saturday nite was a perfect time slot..
and though I do prefer the older eps, there are some great Mike episodes as well. Y'all should get yourself over to the . Most of the episodes have been encoded, and are available to download via the P2P client. The only ones that aren't available are the Rhino releases. Unfortunately, that includes some of the best, including Side Hackers and my all-time fav, "Manos" - The Hands of Fate.

2. I remember the first time I saw the show
I couldn't quite figure out what it was...but I also couldn't stop laughing. I was literally turning red and wheezing and my dad came up to my room and asked if I was okay.

Then we both watched it and we both got hooked.

4. That's Mike, not Mark
...as in Mike Nelson. It's generally agreed that the show jumped the shark when Joel Hodgson left. After his departure, "Dr. Forrester" and "TV's Frank" also left, making the show a shell of its former self.

You won't be seeing the Joel shows on TV - only on video. Find one in your local video store and pick it up.

5. IMO, the show still had some redeeming features
until Trace Beaulieu (Dr. Forrester, Crow) left.

The first time I saw MST3K, I had a similar reaction to Magic Rat. I laughed for days afterward, every time I thought of it.

6. Feh!
I liked the show until it's final episode. I thought Mike was a good host, though I agree it definitely did Jump the shark when Joel left. I think the skits were still good until T.V.'s Frank left, and the movies were good until the end.

Nowhere near as good as Futurama, of course, but still one of the best, most original TV shows ever.

10. I'll never get enough mst3k!
I was turned on to MST3k with mike, so I can never choose one over the other.
But, if any of you really like the shw that much and have broadband service I recommend going to Winmx and start trading for some files. mst3k is the crack, and winmx is my fixer!
