6. The weird thing is that Bil Keane is very funny and very blue in person

he's the father of one of my former bosses (also an artist), and he MC's the National Cartoonists Society annual awards ceremonies. He's always chosen because of his dry, biting wit-made funnier because of how painfully dull the Family Circus is. But what the hell; it's paid all his bills and put all of his children through college, so more power to him!

It's just that as you say it is a dull comic strip. It is too cutesy for it's own good.

(graphic novel, really). He was heavily inspired by Walt Kelly's work; as relevant today as it was then. My friend's book also leans left, which pisses off loads of freeper types once they figure out the allegories.
