I tried to defend Obama (it was so ridiculous, I couldn't believe it) but I could tell it might get ugly, so I suggested we put politics aside. We did, and the rest of the night was fine.

But, PEOPLE! This is not a stupid woman. She's intelligent and kind. She read the email and believed it. I am now officially afraid for our country.
