Why did you start posting on DU? Why did you come to the lounge?

1. Because I don't always want to talk about politics...

...but I do still want to talk about dogs, cats, food, fun and frivolity with the same people. And I like to try to help people feel better when something goes wrong, cheer them for their triumphs, and laugh with them when they remember good things from their childhood That is why I love the lounge. And that's why I love my fellow DUers.
Even though I get ignored more often than not.

6. We are good...

Except we found a couple of fleas on Pru the other day. She'd been scratching a lot. We gave her a Dawn Bath today, and I'm hoping that helps.
Mr. YRD and I raced on Gran Tourismo a bunch today, and will probably do it some more later.

2. I was convinced by a now tombstoned DUer to start

posting and I came to the lounge because I was called a troll the first time I posted. :shrug:

I stay in the lounge because I can communicate with people of similar opinions, and I enjoy talking about my dogs, kid, STBE and other stuff

8. I came to DU because I don't get my news from TV and I needed to keep up with stuff.

I came to the lounge because this is the only place I can have a rational conversation. Even if that conversation ends up being about pudding flavor preferences or something equally inane.

9. I started posting here because someone I was friends with gave me the link.

I come into the lounge because sometimes I don't want to read/post heavy stuff.

If it's not heavy election time and I'm not in the Lounge, I can be found in GD. If it IS heavy election time and I'm not in the Lounge, I can be found in GDP.

10. My dear nomad1776...

I joined DU because I wanted to belong to something bigger than my own small world could give me.

I came to the Lounge after I'd been here a month. At first, I'd disdained being here. I'd thought that DU was primarily political, and what need was there for social things? Well..........

Suffice it to say that I found many good friends here in a relatively short time, and I've never looked back!

I still love the Lounge...Many happy memories bring me back, and new friends as well...

As long as I can type at my keyboard, I will be part of DU.
