4. I don't use it either. Blocking people out just because you don't like their opinions seems petty

and childish to me. Not that I'm a fan of flame-wars, by any means, but I can live with people thinking differently than I do, and I've even had some pretty civil disagreements with a few of them on here. And the (very) few times I've gotten pissed-off responses to things I've said, I've either answered back politely or done nothing.

11. I could agree with the opinions based argument.

But The Universal Truth is that some people are just plain assholes.

Some people go out of their way to be assholes.

Nothing you can say or do will make them be less of an asshole. In fact, pointing out asshole behavior will accelerate the assholishness of the poster.

The ignore function is useful when used properly. Monthly checkups on the ignore list will often produce the welcome sight of a Tombstone.
