I had a friend who had a job like that. I'd trick her sometimes and ask for an ocean view room. Sadly, that little hotel was torn down and a huge hotel was built in its place. Now you can barely see the ocean for all the hotels along Ocean Avenue in Santa Monica. Heck, I can't see the ocean at all now since I moved away. I sure miss it.
