Lounge, I have decided to stop drinking.
It is not healthy for me and accomplishes nothing worthwhile.

I am just going to deal with it alcohol free from now on.

12. I should have qualified my statement
what I meant to say is that I am going to stop drinking myself to sleep, and instead sober up, go to school, and try to concentrate on that instead of the massive heartbreak I am enduring.

I will still probably have the occasional beer or two.

4. Probabaly a good idea.
Drinking to escape can't be healthy. You'll never deal with what's bothering you if you're drunk all/most/a lot of the time.

6. that's wise
You're getting a lot of information thrown at you now. Self-medicating will only make absorbing it harder.

It will absolutely be more painful from a personal standpoint, but you will process it more fully and completely, then in time feel better about finding someone else.

9. I have had my heart broken several times. Each time involved "recovering" with drugs and alcohol.
The last time I decided to work out a lot and learn to play guitar. I wrote some pretty sappy shitty songs, but I learned. I traveled. I made myself better and more interesting.

I hope you can find ways to make yourself better and more interesting, not because you need it, but because it is good for you.

17. In this case
it was the destruction of the relationship that led to a few days of drinking.

18. Get off the sauce-- it's overrated
Here's a test: can you give it up for three months WITHOUT A SECOND THOUGHT? For real, CHRISTMAS? (or Labor Day? Or July 4th? Or ST Patrick's DAY? Most maintenance drinkers don't give their alcoholism a thought because there isn't a rock-bottom involved.

Fuck booze. Give it up. See the Clash "Rude Boy", Joe Strummer saying he quit, it was fucking him up , as the drunk rude boy was stagger slamming to "let the good times roll". Pathetic.
Think about what a lovely life it is to look forward to, with cocktails from "Cape Fear" --Pepto Bismal/Bourbon for those special stake-outs.
Go stark raving sober and write it up if the police mess with you. If you've got booze on you they can beat and blame you, no shit. Even if it's not your fault if there is booze near you will be blamed.

Drunks anymore just reek and slur. Nice as they may be in the day the overload bloat party wrecks have LOST THEIR CHARM! Most drinkers are maintenance drunks and they get TOUCHY and DEFENSIVE about it. Let them. There is no one in this but you.

Neil Young (Having a ball, rolling to the bottom)
Big Audio Dynamite (You can't disable a tank in urban warfare when you're blobbing out in the living room chair-- ALCOHOL NO_NO)
Ian Dury and the Blockheads (Uncoolahol!)

Fuck booze, rock on

23. OK people
I am NOT AN ALCOHOLIC.

STOP sending me PMs telling me I am and how great it is I need to stop.

I drank some due to the fact I was dumped by my now ex-fiancee two days ago.

I decided to stop after drinking for two days due to the sadness of it for me.

ONCE AGAIN, I AM NOT AN ALCOHOLIC, AND NEVER WAS AN ALCOHOLIC, I WAS NOT AND AM NOT A HEAVY DRINKER AND ALCOHOL DID NOT LEAD TO THIS BREAK UP.

From now on, please inform yourself before jumping to conclusions...

25. Conclusions are for the convinced
I'm convinced there is defensiveness about drinking in nearly all drinkers. I don't give a crap about the private individual rights-- I despise the great hypocrisy that is drinking and driving. Fucking booze heads are TOUCHY and a PUBLIC MENACE. Fuck booze.
