I made someone's day today, and I want to brag because I'm the shit...
Hehe. :)

Yesterday one of my friends had to make a hard choice between homelessness or keeping her dog. Well, she thought it was best for her dog to give him up for adoption, so she sent him to the Humane Society's shelter for animals. She was crying the entire day, it was horrible. :(

Then, today, I received a call from her, after all her excited blabber, I basically found out that one of our friends wants to adopt the dog, he only heard about it today. The problem was that, she called the Humane Society, and they wouldn't release the dog, his name is Boi, unless she pays a fee for them keeping him 24 hours. The fee was 20 dollars, and neither she nor her friend adopting him had the money at the time, and wouldn't get it until after the place was closed.

So she called me to ask for the money, I said sure, and I met them up at my work, gave her the money, in addition to some money for gas(she's completely broke) and then she went to pick him up. As she put it, I made her day, she hugged me a dozen times, was so happy.

We had to wait an hour or so for our friend to get off work today, so she came over to my house with her dog, and he had fun playing in the backyard and terrorizing the cats while we waited. :)

Oh, and of course, we took pictures of him while he was playing in the yard, I know how much DUers love cute pics of animals, so here he is:

She's still sad that she has to give him up, but at least now she knows who is getting him, and our friend has a son who is about 8 years old now, so they should have a blast together. :) Oh, and she can visit anytime she wants.

6. He is very beautiful, and friendly too, only about 6 months old...
he's full of energy and loves to play, and he LOVES people, I swear, this dog doesn't have an aggressive bone in his body. Boi and his, I guess she's his previous "parent" would hang out at my work all the time, and he always loved greeting customers. My store manager calls him our mascot! :)

10. it's hard to give up an animal...
i took my mom's cat when she moved in with my Grandmother 400 miles away.

on the rare times that mom can come to visit....the cat is like "where the heck have you been?"
but she's fat and happy with her other kitty friends.

sometimes i feel bad for Mom, though...cuz she's always asking about the cat.
