You get used to using a flash light very quickly.

The dark and quiet was nice, I liked the slower pace of life.

Well back to real world.

I start back to work tomorrow.

1. I was flipping light switches the entire time we were out of power.

Our reconnection didn't take nearly as long as yours did though

Welcome back to electricity!

2. I stopped flipping the light switch after a couple of days.
The streets look so strange now with lights.

We had five generators on the block but gas was hard to find so we were careful how much we used.

There were gas stations with gas but no power and staions with power and no gas.

We had it better then others but still flash lights ruled the night.

We had one house for AC, some of the nights were really hot and sticky.

We made our own ice, that was important.

We had fans which really helped but I am glad the weather has cooled off for those still without power.

I kept a journal during this time, it will be interesting reading in the future.

Little things like movie time everynight was important.

We all pulled together, made new friends on other blocks.

Sometimes good things come from bad.

4. Yes, they left last week.
Their homes had damage and no power but now things are getting back to normal.

It seems really quiet without the kids around.

Our cats have come out of hiding, they didn't like the other animals here.
