My HR needs a science lesson
We had birthday cake day today as we do once a month. I made a chocolate whiskey cake. HR (just one person on our site since we're about 60 people and HQ is elsewhere) decided no one could eat it but they could take a piece home due to the alcohol policy. We tried to tell this idiot that most of the ethanol will dissipate when baked but to no avail. Even if it didn't, an entire bundt cake that has 1/2 cup booze is being cut into 20+ pieces isn't going to get anybody drunk. This was fucking ridiculous. And guess who's going to say no next month when asked to bake? Since I have vanilla extract in an alcohol base I will be violating the company alcohol policy. :eyes:

3. Well in her defense
She has an HR background which is why she works in HR. If she had a scientific one she would be in a technical/scientific position. But this was pretty over the top, along with her hovering around the lunch room to try to make sure no one ate any and accosting 2 people who tried to eat some.

BTW, I have a new boss effective today. :D

6. Yeah!
This one I don't think believes there's a giant conspiracy of the entire company to destroy him.

:woohoo: :toast: Indeed.

5. I don't think a science lesson will help.
HR either needs a common sense lesson, or a foot up the ass.
