Why on earth do I keep opening the Gloom amd Doom posts in GD?

Gawd, some of the posts in GD can be really depressing. I know the economy is in bad shape, but we'll all make it through somehow. My grandma raised five kids during the depression after grandpa died, and nobody starved to death. She worked in a diner until she was 84 years old, and only quit when she got cancer. I hope I don't have to do what she did, but I guess you do what you must to make it.

I believe gas was supposed to be about $10 a gallon by now.
