First of all, I had to meet my husband at a body shop, as he had a fender bender last week and wanted to get an estimate. He sent me to the wrong place and I had to backtrack several miles. The estimate was too high, so he said no thanks, and I went home.
Next I find out my sister has gone to the ER again. As I'm 1600 miles away and I've been worrying about her, this was unpleasant news. It's not serious, but she yelled at me because I freaked out and called her daughter, assuming she'd know, but she didn't. SEND ME AN EMAIL FIRST - IF YOU HAVE TIME TO POST ON DU, YOU HAVE TIME TO NOTIFY YOUR LITTLE SISTER!
Then I tried to go to ObamaDallas to phone bank, so I braved the yucky Dallas traffic to go to downtown Dallas. No one told me their office was closed and they were phone banking elsewhere. I called our local chapter president and asked what to do because I need to canvass my precinct and no one seems to have any canvassing papers prepared, and she sent me to the Dallas Democratic Party headquarters. She gave me the wrong address and my navigation system sent me on a wild goose chase into construction zones. I called her back and got the right address, finally. When I got there I was told that they didn't have the caucus minutes for my precinct from March 4th - they had everything else, but not mine. NATURALLY. I was given a contact number for more info, and the guy told me I didn't need the caucus minutes after all because I already have a caucus attendee list and that's all I need.
Then I had to drive back to Irving to meet my husband at another body shop for an estimate. That was twice as much as the high one from this morning, so he said no thanks. When I drove home I missed a turn and my navigation system led me again all around south Irving. As I live in Valley Ranch and don't spend much time in south Irving, I got way off track and it took me about 45 minutes to get back to Valley Ranch. After getting gas I finally got home.
Many people have terrible problems, much worse than mine. I know that. At least I have a home. But it's been a sucky day, and I just needed to vent. Thank you for your attention.
