Man, that looks nice. Especially on Sept. 7.

2. Hasn't been much to be 'excited' about
Except for a couple innings in today's game, we dominated the series with the Snakes. :headbang:

It's been a realtively pleasant week to be a Dodger fan, I tell you what.

5. But a roller coaster of a month
Win five straight, then lose eight straight and 10 of 11, then win eight straight.

They've been toyin' with my emotions.

4. The Yankees
would be in first place in that division! :P

Congrats to the Dodgers. I hope they hang on and win the division.

6. So would about half the clubs in the majors
There's no arguing that it's a weak division — probably because the average age of the starters is about 26. We had just three guys 30 or older in the starting lineup today, and Kershaw, the starting pitcher, is 20. DeWitt just turned 23 and Kemp won't be 24 for a couple weeks.

Thanks for the good wishes. I often think you're too nice a guy to be a Jankees fan. :D

I've been a Yanks fan since birth. Been through good times and bad with them. They will always be my team.

9. C'mon, you know 2 1/2 out isn't that much
It depends a lot on the schedule, though. Who've you guys got comin' up, and who do the Sox have?

I'd say the rest of the schedule favors us, except that we've got 13 road games left and we suck on the road (28-40). But everybody we play is a drop case (San Diego, 6; Colorado, 3; Pittsburgh, 4; Giants, 6) and the Snakes have four with St. Louis in the last week.

21. There's much to be said for the humiliation factor
I took particular enjoyment in that we didn't just sweep the hard-hitting Snakes, we gave them five runs in three games. :woohoo:

8. What happened to Arizona this year?
they came out of the gates setting the world on fire and have just been limping along for the past few months. Still nothing quite like a September pennant race.

Just 2 more outs and we'll hang on to first place as well

10. Seems like their pitching fell apart
We racked up Haren and Webb twice. Webb's missed getting his 20th in three straight starts, and Haren's ERA since July is in the sixes. The Johnson's been getting hit, too. He was supposed to start today, but they sat him because of a sore shoulder.

I'd love to meet you guys in the playoffs. With you, I wouldn't have to put up with much trash talk. :)

12. I think that would be a fun series...
if the regular season was any indicator of what is to happen, it should be pretty evenly matched...but the playoffs are really all about who is hottest going in

14. Yeah, which is why I'm a little worried
about us peaking right now.

'Course, there're enough games left to coast for a bit and then pick it up again. Hell, it's what we did from Aug. 11 to now — won five straight, lost 10 of 11, then won eight straight.

22. Tell me about it
It's makin' a wreck outa me, I tellya. :scared:

But, y'know, since the All-Star break, we're 27-21 (.563), and that includes that streak where we lost 10 of 11. And Manny B. Manny didn't "save" us, either; we're 19-16 (.543) since we got him.

24. And the other way around
When we got Ramirez and started scoring runs, I thought, "This is a lineup with no real weaknesses," especially after we swept the Phillies. Then we hit that losing streak and I was like, "Okay, so much for that theory."
