Today's "thing I hate with the heat of a thousand burning suns" object.
Heelys.

No! Just no! They are terrible things that must go the way of lawn darts and clackers.

Do we really need shoes that encourage kids to run through the stores (which is probably one of the few places they are fun anyway because of the smooth floor)?

And you just know there are mothers out their thinking "Oh god...please let this kid grow out of these shoes soon, so I can justify getting a normal pair of shoes without wheels!"

Last time I went into Target, I left knowing EXACTLY how the frog in the video game "FROGGER" feels. Avoid the giant cart shaped like a race car. Dodge the kid on the Heelys. Woman driving a motorized cart. More heelys!

Can't stand them.

1. Yer not doing those kids any favors...
...by dodging them. You gotta run right into them. Hold your ground and let the little f***ers know what a hip-check feels like. This technique also works very well at Chuck E Cheese.

I have spoken.

3. .

I'm appalled when I go out now and those kids in Heelys are everywhere. And their parents just let them run wild!

When I was at Target the other day, I had pulled my cart over right next to the rack and was checking out DVDs. This mother and her obnoxious kids had come in with me, so I purposely went another direction. Well, they caught up to me at the viddys.

This kid was holding onto the rack and pulling himself along down the length of it, and started going between my cart and the rack towards me. I pushed it back RIGHT next to the rack, stood there, glared at him, and said, "Um, I'M NOT MOVING..."

Then just dared him to keep going. He backed up, looked over at his mother, and she called him over. It's a good thing. He would have been nursing something with a large bruise.

2. My son begged for a pair
I examined them at the store. There is a large sticker with a legal agreement and disclaimers in tiny print over the wheels.

I told him no way in hell was I buying a pair of shoes with a click-through EULA on the sole.

4. What were the legal agreement and disclaimers ?
Not recommended for children under 18 ?

Do not put on feet?

These days those weird warnings are everywhere and getting more and more silly.

5. Basically that if your kid rolls into traffic
and gets creamed by a bus, not our fault.
