I got the day off from work because of the tropical storm and it barely drizzled...
We were hosting a soccer tournament at our school today starting at 11 am and would probably wrap up by 3 but they canceled it due to inclement weather. It's almost 2:30 and it's barely raining outside, so I think they could have gotten the games in especially since we have turf on both fields. Oh well I'm not complaining, this is the first day in 18 days where I haven't had to go into work so I am fully enjoying my "act of god" day off.

Only problem is...we have 4 games to cover tomorrow :(

2. They called that game way early, right around 11am
Though the rain is picking up now and I think it was a 4 pm game today so I guess they would have some problems with that. It looks like tomorrow's game will be broadcast with "limited commercial breaks" in order for it to be finished early enough for the second game to begin on time for ESPN. That ought to be interesting...

5. Who's broadcasting the first game?
Do the Mets have their own teevee network, like YES? Or did you mean radio?

Dodgers and Snakes are the Faux game here today. I'm torn between watching it and listening to Fuck and McWhorever smack it with their tiny little dicks. Maybe we'll luck out and they'll have the 'B' announcers.

If XM didn't have a delay, I'd just simulcast it, but... such is the shat-upon life of an out-of-market fan.

6. yes they have their own network...SNY
It's actually not a bad sports network, they allow critique and criticism of the team on the airwaves and they have a pretty good set of reporters...unlike YES where the non-stop Yankee love fest never ends complete with "Yankeeography" documentaries of literally everyone who ever played on that damn team. I still don't understand how they gave A-Rod one, he's still on the team and what do they say about his less than stellar playoff record? I refuse to watch because I may lose my appetite.

According to the website innings 1-5 will have limited breaks and innings 6-9 will have no commercials

7. I guess they can do that since it's their network
The second game will start at 8 p.m., right? What time's the first game?

Ballplayers today are such schlumps. Used to be about 30 minutes between games of a doubleheader, and clubs played a dozen of 'em or so every year.

8. First game is scheduled to begin at 2:15...
it's also a day-night doubleheader so they need to clear the stands and let the night ticket people in

3. We got lots of rain here,
in Northern Virginia, right outside DC, and it's still raining, although not as heavily as before.

Hanna really broke up fast once she hit land.

We got off lucky.
