WORST. HAIRCUT. EVER

Went to stylist I have gone to for 5 years - told her I needed trim all over, but would like back layered a little more. She's cutting, then takes electric razor and I think she it taking some excess hair off my neck and she begins to shave the hair off the back!

It is as short as man's in back, on sides! It doesn't even cover my ears and guess what?

I am going to a 40 year class reunion in 2 weeks, that is why I went for TRIM now, so it would look OK then. I now will look like a fat old fool for the reunion.

:cry::cry:

1. Oh, cmt928, I'm so sorry that this happened!
That's always my fear every time I ask my stylist to do something a little different.

3. Oh well, I can't do anything but live with it!
Going to try to see if I can make it do anything! Sometimes working with short hair is more difficult than longer hair.

Maybe this time I will let it grow longer until I can put it up! It's been years since I've had it like that.

5. wow, I consider that betrayal since you trusted her for 5 years.
2 weeks should settle it in so at least it doesn't look very "sharp"

I sympathize...

I will work with it and see what results I can get...

I think every woman has felt this at least once. I haven't since my mom cut my hair when I was about 9 or 10!

10. What you can do.
Reunions are stressful anyway, if it weren’t your hair to worry about it would be something else. It is not that I am unsympathetic, quite the opposite.

My fix would be mousse, to thicken the hair you have. If it is cool enough, a scarf around your neck, with a high collared button down. Go with the sharp, styled look.

If you are feeling fat? Find a salon that does body wraps, you can get rid of ten lbs, temporary, but still you will look great for the reunion. Have fun!

Good for you for maintaining your composure with your stylist.

8. Maybe you could get some extensions or something added for your class reunion?
I know very little about that stuff, but if it's doable, it may help you feel more comfortable at the reunion.

12. Two weeks is a long time when it comes to hair.
Try not to fret. And reunions can be fun if you don't buy into that inner voice that trys to tell you that you are actually BACK in high school. :-) Funny how it brings up all the old insecurities. My 30th was the last one I attended and it was just fine. I actually met classmates that I never knew back then! I graduated with over 600 kids so I guess that is not too odd.

I particularly remember talking to a very handsome guy that I swear I had never seen before. We never even had a class together. He has gone from being a nonentity in high school to being a quietly successful and happy person, I was really so happy to meet him!

13. We've all been there.
Why do these things always happen at the worst possible time? I'm having my own freak out today. I'm 54 and had my passport photo done today. I feel like I need an emergency face lift!

15. Find out who is the BEST stylist in town. Make an appointment
and get the cut fixed. It can be done.

I know from experience. I had the worst cut in my life right before my 50th birthday. Hubby
and I were leaving in two days for a trip to London. When I got to London, I made an appointment
with a stylist recommended by the hotel. She fixed the color (all cut off)and the cut. I came
out looking chic and younger.

I'm so sorry you have to go through this with a big event coming up. But spring for the best stylist
to fix it. And don't ever go back the person who did this to you. Find a new stylist.

20. OMG! I've had that haircut! It took 6 months to grow out...
I never stepped foot in a Pro Cuts again- ever.

Wish I had some advice for you. I bet people at your reunion won't care, btw, about your hair. They'll just be glad to see you.
