1. Well, we do know, and I have to say
That the NFC East will once again be the best division in football. I can see three of the four making the playoffs, with the exception of the Skins. Let's review:

Dallas - 5 Superbowl wins (tied) 8 Superbowl appearances (most)
New York Giants - 3 Superbowl wins, 4 Superbowl appearances
Skins - 3 Superbowl wins, 5 Superbowl appearances
Philly - 2 Superbowl appearances

NFC East - the best division in football.

2. The Cardinals were in the NFC East for a very long time
1 playoff win since 1948 :P

3. I think that at least 2 maybe 3 teams
will make the playoffs from the NFC East. Based on what I saw last night, I think the Skins may be in for a long season. It's not that they are horrible, they are just playing in the killer division.

6. So...
...even though the total number of remaining Super Bowls is unknown, we can agree that there are more to be played. Therefore, we must base the standings on the loss column. Let's see...mm-hmmm. Just as I thought...

Gints (1st)
Philly (tied for 2nd)
The Team From Washington D.C. (tied for 2nd)
k'Boys (last place losers)

B-)

8. Ah, I try to bring people together, but your Cowboy bigotry is showing
Nice try. If you want to get technical, you could start by a team not winning one at all. But I won't go there - I support the division when the Cowboys are out of the running.

9. Just contorting the facts...
...to achieve a contrived outcome, designed to stick it to k'Boys fans.

And successful, too, I might add.

Ah, yes.

12. I beg to differ.
Professor D. P. Post, in his 1997 Nobel Prize winning paper "Why The Cowboys Suck" scientifically proved that ALL facts point to this undeniable conclusion. His research even went so far as the collection of DNA samples from all living and dead Cowboy players and determined that they were all descended from an obscure homo sapien sub genus known as wankerus erectus. So, you see, asserting that the Cowboys suck is not bigotry, just good science!

14. As a Niner fan, I feel it is a moral imperative...
to educate the masses about Cowboy suckage. Always happy to get some validation from the scientific community!:hi:

15. Seems Cowboy bigotry uses Republican science
Edited on Sat Sep-06-08 10:54 AM by Ishoutandscream2
5 and 2 record against the 9ers in playoff games is the real science. Continue to bask in your ignorance.

I had to add that it is 5 and 2. I forgot to mention this, because any 9er "fan" doesn't believe anything existed before 1981.

24. Uh huh. So most appearance in the Superbowl and tied for most wins
pale to the Redskins 3 bowl wins, when two of them were during strike shortened years. Keep grasping straws there.

20. Let's not bring politics into this shall we?
I'm just doing some Cowboy ribbing, but if you want to go there... What state does the current regime claim? How many Cowboy fans vs Niner fans do you think are Republican? The Cowboys are probably the most Repug team in the league. What other team claims to be "Americas Team"? That sounds more like a repug meme than anything else that's been said on this thread.

23. First off, hater, show me the stats that says more Boys fans are Republicans
Secondly, the Cowboys never called themselves "America's team." NFL films gave them that name in the late 70's for a yearly highlight film. The writer said he coined that phrase because it seemed no matter where he went, he saw kids wearing Staubach jerseys. So, get ahold of the media, and ask them to stop calling them that.

So, again, show me the stats. There are Cowboy fans not just in Dallas, but all over the nation. And, on this thread, I never started this crap. But I'm finishing it, and right now.

19. I didn't think that is was possible to have "Cowboy bigotry"
How could anyone hate the team that declared themselves "America's Team". What's not to like? Criminal records (Tank and Pacman)? Arrogance (tickets for the NFC championship game anyone)?

I would have to say that anyone's dislike of the Cowboys if based on a solid foundation and wouldn't meet the definition of bigotry.

25. Read the explanation above about American's team.
And for your moralizing, maybe take a look at a few other teams. The Bengals immediately come to mind, and I keep seeing almost every week an NFL player being suspended for substance abuse. Haven't seen a Cowboy for awhile, but I know that ALL TEAMS HAVE THOSE KIND OF PLAYERS. Very, very weak arguments there, but what do you expect from those who have an obsessive hatred of the Cowboys.

And now, enough said. I guess hating is the best form of flattery. As a good friend of mine has said, "There are Cowboy fans, and those who wish they were Cowboy fans." SEE YA!!

4. I have a feeling it will come down to the last week or two to flush
out who wins the division and who gets the wildcard.

Redskins will not make it.
Philly is entirely dependant on McNabb. If they make it, it would be as a #6 seed.

5. That seems like a reasonable take
I think Dallas is a very strong team. I also think they have a better than average chance of imploding though. All the ingrediants are there. Plenty of media coverage, a cast of "characters" and a weak head coach with little support from the owner.
