newborn kittens (pics)
Edited on Thu Sep-04-08 12:51 PM by carpediem
Here are some pictures of 1 day old kittens that our foster cat had yesterday. They are so cute - thought I'd share. 5 total, 2 orange tabbies, 2 tortoise shells, and 1 that is black with a little striping on his legs. I took these while I replaced the bedding in the nesting box.

The fact they arrived yesterday made "Palin day" tolerable.

3. I wish I could keep them, but I'm terribly allergic. I have asthmatic
reactions to cats. The mom is most likely going to my mom and the kittens will be adopted out, probably through the humane society so I know they'll be spayed/neutered before they go, I talked to someone there and they say kittens always get picked up real fast. She is the second pregnant cat to show up at our house - the first one was feral, we caught her and had her spayed when they were 4 weeks old, when they could eat food, then my kids hand raised the kittens so they wouldn't be feral. This new batch is so cute and she is a really good mom.

16. The Mommy looks like my kittie Larry!
I once had a kittie (Motor Kittie) that wouldn't give birth until I sat there with her and petted her! She had a batch of kittens during the L.A. riots.

Thanks for the great pics---as far as I'm concerned, there is no life without cats!!

23. I think this mommy cat waited until the kids went back to school,
they started school on Tuesday and on Wednesday morning she had them. I don't blame her I have 3 kids and they can be a little loud at times. She was huge before they were born, I was beginning to worry they weren't ever going to come out.

I've got to get to the scanner at my alma mater and put up my cat pics.

What is the Mommy's name?

21. my kids call her pumpkin pie because of the light orange
spots on her. She showed up one day in July and we posted flyers, called the humane society and had her scanned to see if we could find her owner, we didn't get any response. Since I couldn't find space at a no-kill, we have kept her here. When it became apparent she was pregnant, we decided to keep her until the kittens are old enough to find homes. At that point if she gets along with my mom's cats she will move in there. If I could keep any of them, I'd keep her, she is so incredibly sweet, so I'm hoping she gets along so I can at least visit her at my mothers.
