My daughter and I went to Disneyland today.
She does not start school until tomorrow, so, since we have the passes, we took the opportunity to go today.

The crowds were so thin that K and I actually got an entire boat to ourselves in the Pirates of the Caribbean ride. We were bummed to find that the Haunted Mansion was closed. But the boat to ourselves for Pirates totally rocked.

1. Wow!
Sounds fantastic!

My ten year old keeps mentioning Disney World. We visited about a year ago, when my father-in-law turned 90...Did the Halloween party and everything. I wish I could afford to take him back; but it's going to be quite awhile.

2. Awesome. Did you do the Finding Nemo ride?
I've heard it's great. And the revamped Space Mountain is supposed to be great as well. Glad you had a good time, my family are Disney freaks.

3. Not this time
We have been on the Finding Nemo ride at least a dozen times. We just went on Space Mountain on Monday night. It is WAY cool. But my daughter did not like it (she is 7). She loves the Matterhorn, and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, but I think the darkness of Space Mountain was too much for her.

13. I'm dying to get out there again.
I've only been to Disneyland once, back in 1988. I have to get on that new Space Mountain.

4. BabyG and I are going to DisneyWorld next (not this coming up)
Saturday for a week and a half. He cannot wait.

I'm glad you had fun. My SIL is a cast member (she's a lawyer for Disney and I love how they call them cast members) and we often go when we're in LA.

6. I hope you had an awesome day.
:)

I stayed home from work today unintentionally. I woke up with a minor migraine. I figured I'd simply go in a little late after the meds dealt with it.

I took a nap and woke up 6 hours later. I was awake for 1 hour, took another nap, and woke up at 11pm. :wow:

On the plus side, I think my speech is getting better. So when I go to work tomorrow I will be capable of communicating.

7. I am so glad that things are coming around for you.
Speech is really underrated. (I know because I get laryngitis at least once a year for 2-3 days).

:loveya:

Sorry about the migraine. I hope your sleep was at least restful.

8. My dear KitchenWitch!
I'm glad you two had fun yesterday!

A last hurrah before school...

My kids and I had many happy trips down there, long ago!

:hi:

10. It was fun.
Today, she came home with homework already. x(

I really like her teacher so far. She is grandmotherly (love that), enthusiastic, and very well organized. I got to spend about the first 1/2 hour of the day in her classroom (with a few other parents), and she was very respectful. She plays what she calls "brain music" (soft classical music) during the school day. She appears to really love her students.

:D :D :D

9. I got stuck in Pirates of the Caribbean once....
The whole thing sorta just shut down as we started up the final lift. We could see freedom, yet we were stuck there for maybe forty-five minutes. Actually, because we just started up the lift, my seat was tilted just right and was kinda comfortable despite that insipid song

Yo ho, yo ho, a pirate's life for me
