Goodbye iPhone!
Edited on Wed Sep-03-08 11:34 AM by Call Me Wesley
I just had one (3G, 8G) for a few weeks and absolutely fell in love with it. Since I had the iPod touch since last Christmas, I got it as soon as it was available in Switzerland, which was mid-July. Bought a nice leather case for it, too.

Heidi still had her Nokia cell phone and was eyening me every time I used the iPhone, green with envy. So, I couldn't stand the pressure anymore and as of today, she has the iPhone, after I transferred all her playlists and contacts to it. Goodbye, iPhone!

The good thing was that just today, quite a coincidence, a white 3G 16G iPhone arrived in the mail I ordered two days ago that is now full with my playlists, contacts and videos. ;) Welcome, new iPhone!

2. She's as happy as a little girl.
I think she's loading it up with Rocky Horror Picture Show music right now. ;)

Seems we've gotten the Steve Jobs virus lately. :hi:

3. Gee. I like my Nokia better than the IPhones I've played with.
But just barely. :)

4. LOL! Really?
Touching at least fifteen buttons to get to a phone number?

The keyboard sucks, though, and there's an auto-correction you can't get rid of without a hack ...

:hi:

7. I just press one button.
I know less than ten people, though, so I've got them all programmed in to 1-Touch. But you can program your phone book to an icon on the Standby screen on mine.

But I know what you mean. Some of the things that should be easy--like switching the ringer off--require three submenus, and half the time I can't even remember the right menus on the first attempt. But, the 5 Meg camera makes up for that.

9. Agreed, the iPhone camera is lousy.
But then, I don't really use it for photography.

Ten people? You must be popular. I've talked with three people so far.

11. Well, to be honest, I'm related to all of them.
And ten was an exaggeration. I've got four numbers programmed in. Two are to my parents, and two are to my teen-age daughter--her cell, and her house. I could pad the numbers and program in the future ex-wife's work, since I call it once every few days to coordinate parenting stuff, but somehow I'm resisting on principle. :)

6. You just don't have the phone with it,
so no SMS and stuff you have on your cell otherwise. No camera as well, but the iPhone only has a lousy camera anyways. But for browsing the internet on WiFi, emails and everything related, youtube, etc., and your music and videos it's a great little gadget. I just wish Apple would enable Flash on these - besides youtube videos, nothing else works.

Compared to my old iPod Video the iPod Touch is far better.

I payed a little more for the iPhone so I can keep the contract bills down a bit.

:hi:

10. No, because it doesn't use phone lines to transfer data.
You just have to be in range of a wireless hotspot to use the internet functions. I don't think that's a big problem in NYC. ;)

But it's no phone, it's just the next generation of iPods with internet access.

18. I love mine
I have the new 3g - I had the first generation but had to have the 3g - not a massive difference but I am a tech geek.

You will all want to kill me....

We all have iPhones - my 2 kids and husband - we are a 4 iphone family and we are getting rid of the land line all together.

There is no comparison to a regular cell - it is the easiest to use phone ever... And we all get to take our music, movies and videos with us in one unit.

All the people on Gilligan's Island have 3g's :D

19. Same here.
At least we're only two people. Ginger (out cat) doesn't have an iPhone yet ... And we were just making up the list of all the iPods we bought over the last two years. :eyes:

I pondered to buy one directly from the US before, but now I'm pretty happy I could wait for the 3G being offered here. The iPod Touch made the waiting time not so hard, and we had cell phones before.

I could always hold the iPod Touch to my face and pretend to have conversations, though. ;)
