I think the best we can hope for is to be consistently good. I doubt we will ever win a National Championship.

Things are cyclical, though. We used to like when Texas came to town back when I was a student at A&M. They SUCKED back then. I doubt they will ever be that bad again though.

19. I know, I know, you're too nice to make goading fun.

And no, I've not watched too much of the last two years. :( I get no pleasure in watching UT beat up Sam Houston State or Florida Atlantic. That's why I don't like college football in general, unless it's the SEC. Teams play so few common opponents that the whole concept of national ranking sounds like the scene in "Stand by Me" when Vern and Teddy were arguing whether Superman could beat up Mighty Mouse. I watch games if they look competitive. UT and Oklahoma is usually fun. I almost never see the UT-A&M game because it's over Thanksgiving, and I'm usually back in Mississippi doing family stuff.

You got to admit, though, that our quarterback has the best name of any player in Texas football. Colt McCoy? From Buffalo Gap? That's straight out of a Larry McMurtry novel!
