Today is my birthday
It's been great. I spent part of the day trying to get refunds from Priceline and Ticketmaster (events in New Orleans during an evacuation should be an automatic refund).

OK, that's out of the way. So I went through the house, closing up all the shutters, bringing the lawn furniture indoors, securing garbage cans, and trying to repair the trailer lights so I can move my boat to safety. Then I towed the boat to a safe place (Lots of evacuation traffic already). Had to actually eat McDonald's food.

Then I came home and dealt with lots of other preparations and a stressed-out wife.

We've just about got everything ready for tomorrow's bug-out. The cats are a major concern. We recently bought a case of wine, so that will be welcomed by our hosts.

I'm really starting to get nervous about this one. Thank god for alcohol! I hope I don't have to start over from scratch at age 49. We won't lose our jobs, and we have savings, so all that's really at risk is our stuff. But it's 25 years worth of stuff, and we like it.

Oh well, happy birthday to me. Wish me luck.
