I went to the Lincoln Presidential Museum and Library today.
There's an exhibit in the library on the Springfield Race Riot that left me in tears. Then, to come back to my friend's house and watch the first black man accept the nomination for the presidency, and on the anniversary of the "I Have a Dream" speech...well, it's been quite a day!!

1. I should have gotten down there to see that
when I was in town. The special exhibit was on Mary Todd Lincoln the last time I was there.

2. This was in the library, which is free btw, and will be there until Nov.
I'm going to encourage (read: nag) everyone I know into going to see it.

How are you, btw?

3. Doing well, actually.
The surgeon drained the cyst, or most of it. They will do a biopsy, but he is pretty sure everything is okay. If the cyst keeps coming back, they will remove it eventually.

I am sore and bruised, but that is all.

We had an open house at our Democratic headquarters today. The turnout was wonderful.

7. We do indeed.
We have signs, buttons and bumper stickers. The signs say "Obama," not "Obama/Biden." We got them a few days before Biden was announced as the running mate.

Come in and get them now, before we run out. It could be awhile before we get any more, if we have time at all to get more.

We are asking for a small donation, to offset the costs to us. I will p.m. you the address.

6. I liked visiting Springfield
I did the Lincoln home and tomb, but the tomb was closed. I also went to the capitol and the Dana house. Checked out the Route 66 stuff too, great little town.
