LIving in Houston, I was just wondering who many others here live along the Gulf Coast.
The hurricane is coming and some of us are going to get hit.

I just would like to wish everyone good luck and hope everyone stays safe.

We are ready if it comes our way.

Already have all the hurricane supplies we need.

The plywood is already cut for the windows, kept it from 3 years ago.

I hate waiting like this.

I will be so glad for the damn hurricane season to be over.

2. I have a strong, old house.
It was built for hurricanes.

I have also added extra strength.

I have such a bad feeling for our neighbors to the east.

3. I am really hoping it doesn't hit the MS coast.
Everyone evacuates to my town and during Katrina we had no power and it was a madhouse. Since I can go into labor any day now, I want my town to be as normal as possible. Of course that isn't the only reason I don't want it to hit. I hope it loses all of its power and dodges us all!!

Good luck! Stay safe.

5. I was thinking of you and your baby.
We had a big hurricane hit in 1983, power was out for a long time.

Not looking forward to that again.

Good luck with your baby Shell Beau.

May we all stay safe.

6. If it's a boy, name him anything but "Gustav".

Pretty much anything else will do. :scared:

edit: I once knew a young girl, born in N.O., named -- well, you know. Sure, it was years before, but still...

7. Thankfully it is a girl! Gustav wouldn't have made the short list anyway.
Or the long list!

11. I do. And, at the risk of sounding dumb, may I ask... "What hurricane?"
I never prepare for hurricanes. If God wants to get me, I'm sure plywood would offer no protection.

12. We have some very expensive windows.
The house will stand but I don't want something breaking the windows.

We have a lot of townhouses around here now, don't know how they will stand up to high winds.

Stay save.
