My unemployment claim has been approved and by the end of the week, my unemployment payments will be deposited to my checking account. It's enough to pay rent and a utility bill every month, so it would be much better to have a job. But, it helps, a lot!

I got a call from the state employment security office yesterday, wanting to know why I quit the job I had 2 weeks before starting the job where I ended up getting screwed over. Told her that I just wanted some time off between jobs; she said, "Isn't it great to sometimes have no responsibility?" I said yes, but now I had more time than I had bargained for.

Anyway, she said that the place that screwed me over said only that I had quit, but based on all the documentation I had sent in (supporting my side of the story), it was obvious there was much more to the story than they had let on. I said yep, there sure was. So, they have another call in to that employer, and they have until 4:00 Thursday to respond. After that, they will make a decision, which of course I hope is in my favor!
