I feel as if I'm in an Alfred Hitchcock movie
So I come home from the store with the groceries for dinner, and as I walk up to the door of my building, I see flocks of birds hovering in and around the cedar trees by the door. They exhibit typical seasonal flocking behavior, moving as if they have one brain, moving from the trees to the curb to the lawn, taking a spin around the building, and back again.

But two things:

1) It's August

2) These are SPARROWS, not migratory birds

Should I leave the building tomorrow?

16. They're building up the numbers, goosing survival odds.
The more bodies in the herd or flock, the less chance of any one individual getting nailed. Plus, this year's hatch needs the old heads' help.

Also, they're doing their pre-flight check, especially getting their navigation/star charts updated.

And there may be a good food source in the area, building up fuel reserves.

8. Go to the nearest Bates Hotel and stay there instead.
Just take a shower before you check in.

10. Hmm, since there aren't any mission towers I could fall off of, that's
probably the best bet.

At least the birds haven't attacked me...yet.

15. You might want to think twice about that vacation in SD's Black Hills
or accepting an invite from two college buddies for drinks at their posh digs.

Oh yeah, whatever your neighbors are up to, ignore them.

12. A couple questions:
Why do you think they're sparrows?

Are you sure they're not migratory, 'cause many sparrow species are migratory?

This is probably totally normal.

But if we don't hear from you, where should we send flowers? :hide:

13. Those birds must be confused.
Perhaps you're the wrong man/woman. Or you just know too much.

14. If you can't leave the building I have an advice:

Sit in a wheelchair and spy on your neighbors until things get

interesting.Grace Kelly's ghost will pay you a couple of visits among other things. :)

18. I don't know. I'd rather have the ghost of Gregory Peck

especially if the room could be designed by the ghost of Salvador Dali. :-)

But I'll be sure to watch out if anyone offers to trade murders with me.
