Dear Young Mothers, toilet training and house breaking aren't the same thing!
Edited on Sat Aug-23-08 12:24 AM by policypunk
I am usually the last person on earth to complain about children in public and their parents, planes, resturants or movies young children really don't bother me in the slightest.

But today I saw this woman do something that was so lazy and so disgusting I was really at a loss for words.

As I stood outside an office building this afternoon there was this woman, complete with alien eye sunglasses standing nearby with a little girl and the woman was totally emersed in her cell phone conversation that was mostly her very loudly repeating "like oh my gawwwd, no way... that is soooo gay"

All this time the child was indicating a need to use the bathroom, this should not have been a problem as within a 100 foot radius there were no less than FOUR public washrooms, including those in the lobby of the building she stood outside of, thirty seconds walking time away. Turning around you could actually see the open ladies washroom through the window.

Unable to break away from her cell phone conversation she directed her daughter to piss next to a little tree all of THREE FEET from a bench that had three people sitting waiting for a bus. This was at 4:00 in the afternoon and there were people everywhere who by this time were all quite disgusted.

Mother of the year continued her loud cell phone conversation "oh no, I can talk, I just taught her to squat, there is a tree its cool - like oh my gawwwd that like soooo gay"

Finishing her task the child went hopping back to her mother who briefly interupted her conversation to congratulate her. Talking to the child very much like you would talk to a dog.

By this time a number of people had made some verbal statements, pretty much what you would expect having a stream of piss at your feet, noticing the disapproval the woman again put down her phone called everybody "fags" and then resumed her phone conversation "its like these stupid fags never go clubbing or something, like fuck it is soooo gay"

So once again:

4:00 in the afternoon,
Four Available Public Washrooms, including one I had just used myself thirty seconds away,
A dozen innocent bystanders,
and a foul mouthed mother who has taught her daughter to piss in public like a dog.

I usually get quite upset with the anti-child, anti-"breeder" nonsense, but for a moment today I was actually sympathetic to the anti-child types. I have never seen anything like that.

Well that is my rant for the day,

7. If mommy dearest looked like a meth addict from a trailer park...
I would have been disgusted, but chalked it up to a typical whitetrash upbringing but both mother and daughter were wearing fancy shit. Mommy seemed especially proud of her daughter not getting her yoga pants wet.

Just another worthless breather trophy wife I guess, it really appeared this woman thought her daughter was a reasonable substitute for a designer dog.

16. You'd be surprised at how many street kids come from affluent homes
The parents are as you describe: treating their kids as a reasonable substitute for a designer dog and giving them no real love or guidance.

8. I couldn't think of anything to say I would say infront of a kid
Although in retrospect I doubt their is anything I could have said as bad as the mothers stream of profanity that I would imagine runs all day.

It is just one of those moments I think America needs to go old school and find a way to work severe beatings back into the justice system. Not a fine, not jail - just a hospitalization required ass kicking.

10. Um... do you really want to teach your little girl to take her pants off in public?
That could get bad. Real quick. I hope there were no pervs who decided to twig onto that kid since she'd be easy pickings after that little demonstration.

-----

I live in Arkansas. I have lived down dirt roads, with no power and an outhouse. I have stayed in hippie communes where outhouses were common and people realized that pee made the shitter stink faster. One particular place had a sign when you entered their six-hole shitter -- "Please Don't Pee Here, It Makes It Stinky".

So I'm used to seeing someone attempt to find a place to piss in the great outdoors. I actually have a "P-Style" for when I am visiting there, because trying to squat with my knees and weight in pants is damn awkward.

But even the most uncouth of rednecks and laid-back of hippies went off, away from people, and didn't give their gift of pee to trees that were particularly close to thoroughfares. (Although you could generally tell after awhile which were the favored pee locations because they seemed to attract a lot of butterflies. Odd.)

11. speaking as one of those "anti-child" types
this is why I like cats better. Litterbox yay, drama nay.

But the child is not the one to blame here. I know damn well if my own mother had been that worthless, the best I could hope for would be to be pushing 40 and pissing in a litterbox.

13. Not disagreeing that it's gross but males do that all the time
it's no more gross for a girl than it is for a boy yet there's a type of father who seems to see it as a right of passage to teach his son to pee outside.

Some people are just animals wearing shoes, man.

15. because I've seen it with my own eyes
on multiple occasions. And I'm not talking about homeless people with no place better to go, I'm talking about guys out cutting their lawns and going and peeing on a tree instead of going in the house, at a park taking their kid behind a tree and peeing together, peeing in an alley - all of which I've personally witnessed. Only heard about the stories of men peeing in the sinks in public bathrooms at bars and at the ballgame. Never personally witnessed that. Perhaps Wisconsin is full of neanderthal men? I don't know.

17. Oh men will pee almost anywhere...
but I don't think I've ever seen any modestly-well-off guy drop trou and pee in wide-open public three feet away from a busy sidewalk. I know that guys will pee anywhere because I work in a fast-food restaurant. They pee in my trash cans and sink daily. They pee on the dumpster and they pee on the building.

Here that's a great way to get arrested though. Public urination is considered public exposure in CT and will land you on the sex-offenders registry. (Whether that's appropriate or not is a different discussion. I'm just stating the fact of it.)

I'd be reporting it to DCS because I used to work with at-risk children and am legally-required to report anything I see as signs or neglect or abuse. That story strikes me as neglectful...it's not like the small child could take itself to the can if it wanted to or was embarrassed.

I yell at people peeing in their yards or in parks to have some class. It's cathartic and most people don't want the attention when they're whizzing.

18. You ought to meet my neighbors
I live in an upper middle class neighborhood with all manicured lawns. You'd think I could avoid it here. No, when the neighbors have a garage party (about 3 nights a week), or walk their dogs they just whip it out and pee into anyone's yard. Usually within plain sight of anyone driving or looking out their windows.

Downtown is worse. I see men in suits walk up to the corner of a building and let fly. There's a loo just inside the building that's open to the public but they'd rather go in plain sight of everyone.

I can understand the stereotype - I have yet to see an offender be a woman.

30. I was once in a public park and saw a woman tell her little girl
to piss right there in the park. Couldn't believe it. She was an immigrant.

Another time, my mother saw her white trash tenants outside the house. It was the little boy with one of his parents, I think the mother. The boy had to go to the bathroom, and instead of bringing him into the house to go, she just told him to go by the side of the house. My mother was not happy about that but she didn't say anything. (I think she saw them out the window.)

31. I saw someone do exactly that with an approximately 2 year old daughter, right in front
of our Science Museum. I was with her, I could not believe she did this.
Funny thing is, this woman is one of those over protective, worrywart kind of mothers about things that don't even matter but was TOO DAMN LAZY TO TAKE HER KID BACK IN THE BUILDING FOR 10 MINUTES TO PEE. because it inconvenienced her.

I saw the little girl was asking to go potty, and I even offered to take her back in to the bathroom while her mom got the car. But NOOOO, she just ordered her daughter to pee right there in the parking lot. It was night time but still. My daughter was appalled.

35. Ah, but this isn't an "anti-child" issue for you - it wasn't the KID'S fault.
Children are innocent.

It's rather an issue of "some people should not be allowed to breed" (like that mother), but I understand that it would be dangerous for you to state that opinion in public, lest you be accused of being in favor of a eugenics program.

But there ARE some people who should not be allowed to breed. We all know that, even if we won't admit it in public.
