Costas says there's documents proving that 3 of the Chinese gymnasts are too young. It would move Team USA up to gold, Luiken up to Gold in the uneven bars, and some others. The Chinese would go to 2 bronze. Let's hope justice is served. :bounce:

IOC asks for investigation of China’s gymnasts

BEIJING (AP)—The International Olympic Committee said Friday it had asked gymnastics officials to investigate whether the Chinese women’s gymnastics team that won the gold medal had underage athletes, saying “more information has come to light.”

“We’ve asked the gymnastics federation to look into it further,” IOC spokeswoman Giselle Davies said. “If there is a question mark and we have a concern, which we do, we ask the governing body of any sport to look into it.”

The IOC, which also asked the Chinese gymnastics federation to investigate, would not give details on what new information prompted it to act now, three days after the gymnastics competition ended.

Messages for the International Gymnastics Federation were not immediately returned.

He's been vociferous about the age thing the entire time. He's been around gymnasts so long, it doesn't surprise me that he would be able to guess the ages of some of those girls.

I just hope the truth comes out and the girls who won medals within the rules get them.

After just 12 hours of "investigating". They accepting the bogus documents at face value. The IOC must be getting lots of money from China.

13. Here's the thing - how can you really prove their ages

It's very easy to create new documentation for these girls. You could bring in a dentist to examine their teeth but even that is not 100% on the nose.

In a nutshell - China got away with it because they can, which really sucks!
