The laundry mat and new feelings
My washer crapped out on me today so I had to go to a laundry mat to finish up my laundry. I took a book with me- Lisey's Story by Stephen King. I recommend the book. So far it looks like it's the best he's written in a while. I've been strictly a non-fiction guy for the past few years. Now I just want to escape from reality.

I had never used the style of dryers that they had at the laundry mat and didn't understand exactly how they worked. So I asked a young woman who was there. After flirtingly toying with my shirt sleeve, she told me 3 quarters for shirts like that. Four quarters for jeans and towels. She said that the dryer she had just used got the hottest. So I stuck my clothes in that dryer. She said that was cute and smiled at me. I was kind of taken aback. The Droopster is not the kind of guy that gets cute, young women flirting with him every day. But she was probably 10-15 years younger than me, and, besides, I'm waiting on someone.

Someone who is closer to my age. Someone who is accepting of who I am. Someone who doesn't get cute, young guys flirting with her every day. I left a message for her saying that I would move on after tonight if I hadn't heard from her. No dice so far. I know she wants to be with me, but I wasn't sure if I wanted to be with her. Some hurt feelings ensued. And me, being the empathic type, is, well, you know.

Anyway, I highly recommend that Stephen King book.

1. The least you could have done is help her fold her thongs.

3. LOL!
She seemed like a white cotton kind of girl. She was doing towels anyway. :)

2. My dear Droopy!
Well, what do you know?

There's life out there for you still...

And you never know when it'll come up and smile...

I am sorry about the one you're waiting on...

That is a tough place to be.

Good luck, sweetie!

Oh, and BTW...the ONLY Stephen King story I liked was "Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption."

5. Thanks Peggy
I just hate the thought of having hurt someone's feelings. Maybe I'm too sensitive, but it's just the way I am.

6. Okay, aA
The Hazmat situation is still a no go. I have until 10/4/08, thats when my license expires. It's starting to worry me enough to the point that I'm looking for work with a carrier that doesn't require trhe Hazmat endorsement.
