well, I think it's a good method, anyway.
3 bags of regular old Lipton tea (or your favorite dark tea) 3 bags of Bigelow "Orange & Spice" 3 bags of Bigelow "Lemon Lift" (Once in a while I'll use Bigelow's Apple & Spice) For stronger tea, use more bags (obviously)
Boil 4 cups of water. Not too much as you want to make a concentrate. Tie the bags together near the tabs and plunk in the rapidly boiling water.
Let it boil for a couple minutes then turn off the heat. Let the bags steep for a good 5 minutes, plunking them up and down a couple times during this period.
Fill a pitcher with ice. Pour the concentrated tea over the ice and fill the pitcher up with cold water. If you like sweet tea, add the sugar to the hot pot before pouring it over the ice. (don't forget to stir)
Voila!
I prefer this over the Sun Tea method because it's faster.
My apologies to any tea purists who might take issue with any of the above procedure, but it really does taste good doing it this way.
Edited to add that in hindsight, this may very well be the biggest "DUH" post of my entire online life.
Well, maybe not, but close. An Iced Tea recipe? Damn, I must be bored as hell. Time to make a martini.
Next up, a martini thread.
