...because he's wearing a black tuxedo with a white shirt-front and also sports white spats on his paws. He's one classy gent-- except for the perpetual vomiting.

This goldfish's name is Fred. His bubblehead has grown soooo much that he appears to be blind.
I've removed anything with corners and :mad: very recently a frog that bit Fred's fin.
His new tank mates are guppies and neon tetras.

21. Joan, I'm impressed by your devotion to Fredfish...

...Is continuing bubblehead growth a real problem for this type of goldfish? I ask in all seriousness. I have seen these goldfish often, of course, but did not realize that their protrusions could lead to blindness, etc. Anyway, he looks so solemn there in your photo, but I reckon that's just a general fish face, and I am certain you're giving Fred the best life he could hope for. So kudos to you for your kindness.

23. Fred is an Oranda Goldfish

Unfortunately it looks like having a big head goes with the name Oranda. I have 3 others of his type (in another tank) that are not overburdened by the inordinately large head.

I thought he looked lonely so I added tetras, guppies and the miniature african frog. His tank is in my bedroom so when I noticed that he seemed to be hiding for a few days I started watching for signs of illness. Now that I've removed the frog to another tank, Fred is back to his old self.

Fred has one of the most distinctive voices in music. His second solo CD "Just Fred" was with Rick Sims from one of my fave punk bands, The Didjits. Fred's voice was made for that kind of uptempo stuff, and it went perfect with Sims super cool guitar style.
