The US version - OMG looks AWFUL!

It'll be lucky if it lasts 3 eps

The BBC version, however, is bloody BRILLIANT

1. Is this a documentary?
Or some sort of situational show?

2. Sorry - here's a you tube trailer for the show

The UK version: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TYxGm1T2Ve4

Don't even bother with the US version

The premise is a cop is chasing after a serial killer, almost has him and he flees, only to kidnap his girlfriend. Distraught, the cop pulls over while Bowie's "Life on Mars" is playing. He is hit by a car and transported to 1973 Manchester, where he's a cop who has just been transferred to the division.

Amazing show - think Phillip K Dick meets Dirty Harry (to sound like a Hollywood type here ;) )

4. I'm glad they ended it when they did

That's what I hate about US TV - the shows go on way too long. Lost is a perfect example. That show should have ended season 3.

I just ordered the 'sequel', "Ashes to Ashes" which is the same premise, set in the 80's.

ON EDIT: Did you see any of Season 2, or are you watching it on BBC America?

6. They gotta squeeze every last drop of money. It's never about the art,
Most shows would be better if they were considered miniseries.
