Personally, I think the CONTENT of dreams is pretty meaningless-- it's just stuff substituted for sensory input to exercise neural pathways while we sleep, drawn from memories and associations constructed from memories. I dream about sex with some of my students occasionally-- god I hope none of them read this-- but it doesn't mean anything at all.

I think it would be sort of cruel to tell your SO and make him/her feel bad. don't tell the person you had the sex dream about. I am speaking from experience. My former roommate did that to me, telling me about the horribly-vivid dream his wife had about me.
