Tonight's Tulsa Craigslist
The list in our area is usually just chock full of really weird stuff and ad text, so I thought I might start a semi-regular thread for your amusement. I only haunt the For Sale listings, so that's what we're gonna have!

First, there's the piece of furniture no home should be without!

http://tulsa.craigslist.org/fuo/794082400.html

Then, there was this little gem. This was actually from last night but it was so incredibly stupid, I had to do a screen print and share, coz you know it wasn't going to be up there long. And it wasn't! :eyes:

Got anything weird for sale on your area list? Sure ya do! LOL

3. I tried posting Freecycle offerings and wants a while back
but it dropped like a rock.

The craziest was "Living room couch. Good condition. Small .38 caliber gunshot hole in back." :wtf: Would someone really knock on that guy's door?

16. I love freecycle.
I have never answered an ad, but if you think it is funny where you are, you should try getting it in a very rural area.

They are giving away torn underwear over here, and used cat litter, I swear.

18. I live in rural OK
so you can pretty much guess what it's like around here. Some one once posted a pedal stool sink. No lie. We have lots of rod iron and rot iron items, and dinning room sets. Tons of things I can't even remember at the moment.

23. no kidding?
I am in north central rural texas. A lot of the ads I see are from OK. I saw a free tractor tire once. That needed work.

19. Ours is mostly "wants" from people who look at it as virtual Santa Claus...
Edited on Wed Aug-13-08 09:33 PM by MrsGrumpy
Some recent Wants:

A laptop, must be XP or higher
A car, not picky, must run well, get good gas mileage, non smoker please
A house, I might be able to pay a little something in a year or so...
Pop up trailer, must be in good condition with no tears. We have a small infant so please don't be a smoker.

People are nuts but, as my father said, it's worth a shot, really. :eyes:

20. They do get a little
specific and high-maintenance with some of those requests. Why is it there's always a bunch of people who always screw up a really great idea?

Bastards wouldn't give me a house, though.

I live in rural Oklahoma! Just because it's "normal" for an area doesn't make me like guys that get their kicks from going around killin' stuff, ya know? :hi:

8. If I had that kinda money
I might consider it. One of the best radio stations over that way started up in a beat up trailer in the mountains of eastern Tennessee. I like to listen to it once in awhile for their Americana Mix programming.

9. Well, first...
weapon sales are strictly forbidden on craigslist, and second, I would think it would also be illegal, as far as I know. I could be wrong.

26. I didn't know they were illegal on Craigslist
However, the gun that was posted is the semi-auto version of the AK, and is legal in the US.

29. No, it's perfectly legal. It's a non-automatic civilian rifle, not an actual military AK.
Edited on Thu Aug-14-08 04:12 PM by benEzra
Does violate Craiglists' no-weapons-of-any-type policy, though.

28. They used to sell those Norinco non-automatic AK lookalikes at Wal-Mart back in the late 1980's.
I am still kicking myself for not buying one (the pre-1992 ones appreciated quite a bit after Bush the Elder put the kibosh on them, at the urging of William J. Bennett).

As I recall, the price was between $200 and $300 at the time. Even $300 to $1200 is a pretty decent return on an investment.

FWIW, that's not a real AK-47, just a civilian carbine based on the design.
