7. None, really.
We have slightly differing "intensities" about the issue of handguns--I am vehemently supportive of banning them outright, and her opinion is more like, "I would have no objection to a handgun ban, but it's not something I feel passionately about."

Otherwise, we're pretty much identical.

So far I've gotten him to admit that there should be some cases where abortion should be legal. And I got him to give on parental consent.

never looked beyond "it's baby murder" to consider rape and incest.

When i told him i think you should have the choice of aborting if your baby's daddy is also your daddy, he was like...huh. never thought of that. And then when i explained how parental consent throws a monkey wrench into the incest equation he had something else to ruminate on too.

52. Yeah I can definitely see where you are coming from with that...
but i've learned to see his perspective too.

He's a country-boy - and the way he looks at it - if nature didn't mean for it to exist, it would die on it's own.

And in his favor - there would be no question he would assume his share of responsibility - and he's of the "it takes 2 to tango school of thought" on babymaking.

Actually i guess in that way he reminds me of my dad - who is also pro-life. But his focus is the baby itself and not the ramifications of said baby - in various situations.

i think man are far romantic about this sort of thing then women, to be honest. So you are right - it's presumptuous. or perhaps fatuous is a better word. (if i spelled it correctly)

12. Only one comes to mind
Death penalty has turned into an argument before (I think it should only be used in very
extreme cases and I wouldn't shed a tear if it was completely banned while he thinks there
needs to be a few minor tweaks in how it is applied, but overall it's acceptable).

We also have some disagreements about abortion, but mainly he doesn't feel strongly for or
against it. Knowing that he would be included in any and all decisions if/when we ever
conceive a child and that I am strongly pro-choice is enough for him to steer clear of the
issue.

this opinion is never voiced in a comparison to Obama, just a sort of mild mannered respect, which of course he never had for Shrub.

disclaimer: my husband is a Marine Brat and a navy veteran and I think there may be some little bit of inborn reflex to respect the military man, even if you aren't gonna vote for him. I'm just sayin'

We do agree on the Iraq War. Biggest mistake in American history. We agree on Bush. Worst, most destructive, damaging, clownish, embarrassing president ever. ("Even more than Bill Clinton!" she says as I roll my eyes...) And we agree (mostly) on the death penalty. She opposes it except in the case of the most monstrous, horrendous crimes. She agrees with me than unless capitalism is heavily regulated, it becomes a form of tyranny. (She doesn't support union labor, though.)

Everything else, we disagree on.
