To Brita filter or not to Brita filter. That is the question.

I started filtering my water 10 years ago when I lived in an old house where the pipes were so old the water was slightly rusty when it came from the tap.

I've lived in a newer place about 8 years, still filtering the water, which after all these years is a habit.

As far as I know, our city water is good, and I can't smell chlorine. Is it worth it to continue filtering?

1. Taste them both and see...
I started filtering mine when I lived in an apartment that had a central boiler system for hot water. This was great, as we NEVER ran out of hot water and we didn't have to pay for my then-wife's hour long boiling hot showers. But when the power went out, the system backflushed and stirred up all of the sediment, and the hot water would be black for hours. So the faucet filter seemed like a good idea to use for all of my drinking and cooking water needs.

When I moved, I kept it though- Baton Rouge water is really good tap water, but I could tell a difference in the taste.
