US Men's Gymnastics Final SPOILER
Wow, US gets Bronze. Awesome. All new Olympians, not expected to medal. Very nice. They worked hard. :)

1. That was awesome ...

Their high bar routines were things of beauty.

China was simply unbelievable.

2. All things considered, they did well
they held off Germany, and got a medal. After losing their two former Olympians at the last minute (relatively), I think they did great. :)

7. I was being sarcastic, its disgusting that people do that
Those girls are forced through dieting and extreme exercise prevent themselves from going through puberty so they can be the best at their sport. The morons were forced to stop after articles were written that were talking about how 14 year olds were "over the hill" in their sport and the IOC stepped in.

14. Cheng Fei is 20 and she is their top gymnast...
And the top Vaulter... The swimmers also go through a strict diet and hard training regieme and the women don't fully reach puberty until they retire from the sport. I have noticed that much of the controversy over the Chinese girls is in the American media, maybe they are looking for a target if China do better than the USA in the womens gymnastics or the find themselves on in the situation that the Russians had in Atlanta, with a large partisan crowd cheering loudly for the home team.

Cheng Fei's diet is basically the same as Chellsie Memmel's mostly fruit, a big lunch and water....

12. The gymnastics should be on at 4 AM
Put the rowing or team handball in prime time, something interesting.

I love the Olympics but there are dozens of sports I'd rather watch than gymnastics. At 6-4 I can't relate at all to little guys doing flips and spins.

I've gotta concede I was almost rooting for the US to blow the bronze. Now that would have been an all time choke. I liked them individually except the one goof who blew his floor exercise then could only say one thing repeatedly to the camera, "That's the way we roll."

15. NBC bought the time slot... it is on at 3am GMT....
NBC did the same with the swimming, these big finals are traditonally evening events but they have been changed for US primetime viewers..
