I am so proud of my daughter.
Her husband's Boston law firm sponsors a charity to supply homeless kids (living in shelters with moms, due to domestic violence) with backpacks, school supplies, and at least one back to school outfit.
She told me about it a few weeks ago.

They also supply same for moms who want to return to school.

Now it's the Sixth Annual Back to School Backpack Program.

Today I got another email from her.
"11 mothers and 26 children remain without sponsors.
The deadline is August 18.
So, dad (and mom), this is what I want for my birthday. Really.
Please sponsor one of these kids."

Shug, the check is in the mail this morning.
And we are fairly bursting with pride.

Her email also contained the following quote, which I totally agree with:
"Stay where you are -- find your own Calcutta. Find the sick, the suffering,
the lonely, right there where you are -- in your own homes and in your own
families, in your workplaces and schools"
-- Mother Teresa

2. We do the backpack program here as well.
I love it. I think it's a wonderful thing to do for these kids.

You should be very proud of her trof, I know you are.

My sister does that too down here in CT for a local organization..she buys everything...backpack, shoes, shirt, pants, socks, underwear, sleepwear.....I think it's great for those who can afford it.
