(Apart from 'Why didn't you, over the weekend, walk 150 steps to the office to drop off the sodding check because it's due by 10AM on the 4th, and NOT on the third business day, even though this weekend was the 2nd and 3rd?')

1. Is your landlord an anal retentive prick?

2. Usually not. It's odd as I've lived here almost 11 years...

4. Doesn't that suck? When my car was totaled by a semi in June, my mom came to take me to
the main office which is a few miles from the apartment. I was FIVE minutes late and they charged me 75.00 cash. I begged and pleaded and finally they relented but told me "this is the last time." We're NEVER late and in this building that's really impressive. Our neighbors come in and out and several have fled in the night.

5. Man, here in Kansas they're real nice about rent...
At my old apartment, we were always a day or two late, but we called ahead and told her the date we'd be bringing it in. At my current place, I have until the 5th of the month or so to turn it in... Plus, if I forget on the 5th, I can just leave it in the mail slot in the office before anyone gets to work.

7. My landlord is the original absent-minded professor
He just found my August 2007 check about a month ago (despite my having asked him about it several times, it was a surprise to him) so he said "I can't cash this NOW; it will mess up your account" and thus I got a free month's rent.

Another time he waited so long to deposit my check (seven weeks) that he called and asked if would be okay to deposit it.

I love this guy.
