Poll question: Am I sick for liking Woody Allen's movies?
(At least the ones up to and including 'Annie Hall' but none of his later, more psychotic ones?)

1. Nice buy low opportunity on a hell of a flame war here.
There are a few people on here who are unable to separate the art from the artist.

4. Well, before I go and cry, I have but one thing to say:
If they can't separate the art from the artist, that's their problem!

WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!

2. "Hannah and Her Sisters" just looks better and better.
I also found that I didn't properly appreciate Annie Hall, though I loved Manhattan, when I was in my 20s.

Geez, I just counted off the list at IMBD and realized I've seen at least 17 movies Allen has directed, and bits and pieces of various others.

3. Of course not.
A funny movie is a funny movie.

This morning I listened to a couple of Ted Nugent songs. Does that mean I'm sick, too?

5. Point taken.
:)

Hey, have you ever seen 'Death Becomes Her' (1991)? great director, great cast, great plot... did better at the box office than "Munster Go Home" (of course, what movie couldn't...)

6. No - liking Woody Allen means you are intellectually advanced.
It's a good thing!

8. Are you out of your mind?
Some of his films are among the best American features of the past three-plus decades (Annie Hall, Hannah and her Sisters, Husbands and Wives) while others are among the worst (Small Time Crooks, Curse of the Jade Scorpion, Alice), but YMMV.

Yes, Woody Allen himself is kind of creepy and apparently quite a jerk, but that has nothing to do with the quality of his films.

10. No.
But if so, then I'm sick too.

I like a lot of his movies.
