Side note the only reason Santana palyed at Woodstock is because the asked Bill Grahham to help out and he said he would if Carlos got to play if not NO!

His comment at the end is an understatement.

18. Here's one of my favorite solos by Neil, at the Buddy Rich Memorial Concert
It's nice to know that he respects one of the pioneers in the field. The band members seem to be enjying it too!

17. Gavin Harrison
This isn't technically a solo... but kinda. In this clip, Gavin is demonstrating several advanced techiniques while playing along to a recording of 'Futile' by Porcupine Tree.

This is seriously worth watching... and rather brief, for those who don't care for lengthy drum solos.

Peter Criss is a phenomenal drummer.

Advance to around 3:30 to avoid the theatrics.

27. Peter Criss took drum lessons from Gene Krupa himself.
I also think Criss is underrated as a drummer, and Ace Frehley was tapping while Eddie Van Halen was still in high school.

24. Mike Portnoy's solo.
Best guy I've seen.

stick around at 5:30 he pulls an audience member on stage to drum.

Then he gets a guy from the back row

"Doesn't matter if he's in the back row he's having the fucking time of his life all the way back there. Come on up dude, come on and have the best seat in the house."
