A truly great liberal has left us- my brother.

A 30 year battle with type one diabetes.

My sister in law found him last friday slumped over in his favorite chair. Acute heart attack. The docs said 40 years. He made it till 48.

My brother- A rebel with to many causes. The Greatful Dead, His girls soccer team he coached for ten years, His American History class he taught, his son, his wife, global warming, small minds unable to open because of prejudice, his asshole brother (me. Although he joined the Navy to get away from everything he became a man in turn inspired me to join and become a man. When I was questioning my app for grad school he told me apply or I will kick your ass.

My brother was adopted. A hard life we had as kids in th 70's. Sex, drugs, music. A father (bio) who spent most of his time in the pokey. We became better. Through the school of hard knocks.

I really don't know what to say. But through all the trials of bio and adopto families meeting each other the past few days. He left a legacy which me and my new brothers can pass on to the next generation.

For you- Chris. I love you. I miss you. and you were one of the finest people I ever known. You followed your own rules and the world is a better place. God Speed Bra!!!!!!!

three years ago I lost my brother to Type I at age 49. A thirty year struggle. He never married and had recently retired, which probably killed him being without a schedule that made him eat and rest at scheduled intervals. He was 13 months my senior and always my little brother. :hug:
