Your reactions only--not naming the artist. ;)

What does it mean to you? How does it make you feel? Seriously.

38. Hey!
I was giving my opinion. hehe

Apparently, it was a cold night after some intoxicants. I think that red pointy thing top-left was protruding.

But, thanks for the whippins! :woohoo:

5. My honest opinion.
It's kinda noisy. All that beautiful color behind the gal takes over the entire picture. And really does not contribute anything.

8. I'm no art critic, but I think it's lovely.
I can't decide if it make me think more of a field of flowers blowing in the wind or a colony of sea creatures on a coral reef swaying in the surf.

13. Seriously? It takes me back to early grade school.
I don't know if it is, but it looks like finger painting. I loved finger painting.

Maybe that's silly, but that's what that painting does for me.

19. first reaction - i really like it, it has that 'A-ha!' factor.
i can 'feel' the paint and that's great - i love tactile stuff. looks like finger painting, squishy. Can almost smell all the different colors.

feels springlike and bursting and popping and alive.
i haven't looked at any other posts so will do now, curious.

22. I like the colors and the apparent textures, and I feel good after looking at it.
However, it's not a piece that I'd put in my home or buy. That's not a reflection of the painting though; I tend to like Impressionism in my home and at work.

The color choices make me think the artist is colorblind, or is not seeing through human eyes.

Not that that's bad, of course - it's a pretty good interpretation of what looks to be flowers or some fruit.

27. Flowers, and then cake for some reason, or ice cream. (?)
The colors within each section are very nice but clash a bit, section against section. Which might be the intent?

I adore flowers with a passion and having a passionate sweet tooth, cake and ice cream as well. This painting makes me perceive "happy". What is the secret of this particular work? Are we about to learn that it was done by John Wayne Gacy or something?

33. I like it.
I don't LOVE it, but I like it.

Some folks see people in it? Really? I don't see any people at all. It looks kind of like a suggestion of a cake made of ice cream and flowers. Maybe with a butterfly sitting on it. A little twee, but very summery and it makes me hungry. :9

34. Digging this back up for an UPDATE! The artist is revealed!
This was painted by my son when he was five years old. We had bought a few inexpensive canvasses at Michael's craft store, and some cheap tempera paint in all colors.

He called it "The Old Lady and the Woman." Not sure why. He hardly seems to remember, now. He used an enormous brush (the "big" one in the pack that we got) and painted this on an easel set up at a local park in between rides down the slide and swinging.

You all gave some wonderful, wonderful pieces of feedback, which I have copy-pasted and intend to save for him.

Thank you! :grouphug:

He hasn't painted on canvas in quite a while, but he's been working with watercolors at school and has brought home a few really amazing pieces.

36. Interesting...
I was going to say it looked like a child's artwork (please understand, this isn't putting it down). But I thought it was an undersea picture. I see a scallop, some anenomes, and some sort of colorful seaweed.

I think it's pretty! Bravo to your son!
