1. I'm talking about creeping up on a sleeping cat
Edited on Wed Jul-30-08 09:42 PM by yardwork
gathering it up in your arms, kissing its wet nose, and making baby talk into its soft ear until it whimpers to be set down, whereupon it takes off to a safe distance.

3. I do it to my cats.
Then they chase each other around the house. Sometimes they let me play too.

20. Ah, the Abominable Snowman treatment.
"I'm gonna name him George, and I'll hug him and pet him and squeeze him and pat him..."

Cats hate that.

4. I sometimes give cats a belly rub/scratch while they're sleeping.
Some cats don't mind it and may even like it.

Others will rip your arm off if you try it.

I always figure out the cat's personality before I dare try such a thing.

5. My cat will rip my arm off so I try it from time to time
just to see if I can get away with it and still keep my arm.

7. Really? I didn't know that.
The last time I had a dog I was sixteen and probably thought I was too grown up to maul him.

Now I'm much older and realize that mauling cats is a very relaxing hobby. For me. Maybe not for the cats but it seems to put them in a pretty good mood.

11. How do you know?
Maybe my cats are in cahoots to kill me and I don't even know it.

By the way, the recently mauled one just came back, curled up next to my computer. He finished chasing the younger cat around and now he's purring next to me.

12. How do I know? OMG!
My "precious one" decided to keep pace right under my feet whilst I got up to go to the biffy in the dark one night.

I stepped on him, and to save the little fucker, I lifted my foot, lost my balance, and fell flat on my face. I broke my glasses, my eye orbit, and had to have my right shoulder and hip xrayed too.

The little snot knows I love him. He "took care" of me, and cuddled an purred all over me while I healed from the injuries.

Oh yes, he does purr next to me on a regular basis. He always sleep on my neck, or butt. Little rascal!

13. You obviously weren't giving him enough attention.
You need to maul him more often.

Now if I could just get my little black cat to stop pausing on the stairs right in front of me...

15. I've got heavy leather gloves
and use them to attack her until she's screeching.

Two minutes later she wants to be lap kitty.

10 minutes later she bites me.

16. My cats feel that gloves are cheating.
If I wear gloves they won't play. Just look at me with disdain.

21. I dont know about mauling. But I must admit something.
I used to be able to hold my kitteh like a baby, she didnt mind being held upside down. I would rub her belleh too. But then I would also tickle her nose until she sneezed. Sometimes the kitteh snot would spray far and wide.
