OK, I have to ask. What's the deal with Favre? What happened? I don't follow sports at all.

All I know is that he's a football player. What happened?

12. He has gone back and forth on whether he was retired or not.

Basically strung the Packers along, the Packers finally moved on, and now he is whining about wanting to come back.

16. Every year, Favre announces that he's not sure if he's gonna retire or not.

Everyone sits on pins and needles, and usually he decides to continue.

This time, at the end of last season, he announced his perennial contemplation..."I might retire." He went back to Hattiesburg, probably pushed his Troy-Bilt around the yard, maybe hunted a little, before he announced his epiphany--he was sure he wanted to retire.

So he retired. And then he un-retired, evidently after the Vikings wooed him. So he went back to the Packers to tell them that he had un-retired, and they were all like, "So what? We've moved on. We can't just sit around waiting for your royal highness to vacillate on this thing, you know?"

And he told them to release him to the Vikings, or some such shit.

And all has been a huge soap opera in the wonderful world of sports. But even people like you and me, who could give two shits about sports, can't help hearing about it, especially if you live in Mississippi, because it's all over the news, in newspaper editorials, radio etc.

So there ya go...to my understanding, this is what's going on with Favre.
