How many times have you moved in your life?
Even within the same town?

Mine is 16 not counting moving in and out the college dorms for two years before I got my first apartment.

10. I do, too.
Most of my moving was due to being a Navy brat, but I've done a lot of moving since I've been on my own, too.

If so, then 3 times.

3. Probably half a dozen, all within the same area.
I hate moving too, and I'm planted here for life now. The only way I'll move again is in a body bag.

5. Over 20 times if you include within the same regions...
If you don't include the three different cities in the Los Angeles area or the 4 different moves in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area, then I would count 13 moves. Either way, it was too many. Needless to say, growing up as an Air Force brat, I really am not from anywhere.

6. If I count the times my family moved while I was still a member,
then seven. If you mean how many times I have while on my own, then 4, including moving away from home :)

8. too many times
I would basically say that for 7 years I didn't really live anywhere, because I was constantly moving. I was in my last apartment for 9 months, which was kind of a lot for me, and I hope I'll be in this one for a few years. Just knowing that I'll be in this same town for 3 years is a major relief.

11. The move from this rental house to the house we're remodeling
that replaces our home that burned down last summer will be move #19 for me.

Too many moves.

We've been in Chapel Hill for 8 years, which is the longest I've lived in one place since I was a kid.

19. once with my parents when I was a child
and twenty-two times as an adult. I sometimes say that I have itchy feet, three years in one place and I start to get the need to move. Consider that these moves (22) were done in forty-four years and you will think that it is true, but some places I stayed much longer and some places were for shorter times. I have lived in my own home, and in rentals. I have lived in the city, the suburbs, small towns and the country. I have lived in only three states. Do I want to move now, maybe, but only if I came into enough money that I could buy a perminant home to die in and pay someone to do the moving for me. Know any millionaires who want to marry for pity?

including ten moves with my parents (as a kid), that included three moves in my undergrad years when I lived away from home, but not including stays in various places here and abroad that lasted less than a year each.
