2 'very clever men' charged in gas-theft scheme

Joe Paglini is angry that thieves have apparently been stealing gas from his Park Ridge service station for months, but he's willing to give the criminals their due.

"They were very clever men," Paglini said Friday, just days after two Chicago men were arrested in connection with the elaborate scheme.

Adrian A. Martinez, 28, and Dennis Djirackor, 28, are charged with crimes that include criminal damage to property and gasoline theft, Park Ridge police said.

Paglini said he had noticed he was losing gas for months but couldn't figure out how. He thought perhaps there was a leak in one of his tanks.
