The Further Adventures of Gary the Idiot
Ahh, yes, our beloved former Democratic congressional candidate is back in the news...

Portsmouth – Gary Dodds was ordered held on $10,000 cash and $25,000 personal recognizance bail this morning on charges that he allegedly took control of his wife Cindy's car last week and tried to force her to have a mental health evaluation.

Cindy Dodds also filed for divorce late last month in what may have been a precursor to the alleged attack.

Dodds allegedly surprised Cindy at the Fox Run Mall last Thursday when he got into the passenger seat of her car and implored her to go with him to Portsmouth Regional Hospital so she could be checked out, prosecutors said.

Cindy at first resisted the hospital visit, going instead to the Cutts Mansion property the couple own together, where Gary has been staying. While there, Gary allegedly blocked Cindy from leaving and told her, "I'm going to bring you upstairs and rape you," according to a police affidavit.

In 2006, Dodds staged a car wreck and spent a night hiding in a salt marsh as a way to draw attention to his congressional candidacy. That stunt resulted in a felony conviction, which is currently under appeal.

Earlier this year, Cindy accused him of slapping her around during a vacation trip to Florida.
