My husband is cooking dinner. We have plenty of beer and fixings for margaritas.

We've got birthday cake: a lemon cheesecake provided by my friend.

We've got pizza rolls and pretzels for late night snacks.

We've got darts and a dartboard.

We have excellent music loaded up and ready to go.

This, my friends, is a 42nd birthday.

(Sure, sure, we could have gotten a babysitter and gone out on the town, but I'm just as happy having "date night" at home and spending a hella lot less money.)
