3. I wanted to play bass because of Peter
My parent's still have a letter to Santa that I wrote asking for a bass because Peter Tork plays one.

I would say Mike. I still listen to his music and he puts things out here and there. He also is very involved in some other really cool things and is still active.

8. Here's a little snippet from an article
This is another thing I think is cool

"Bette died in 1980, leaving Michael with a fortune of over $50 million, most of it from the sale of her company to the Gillette Corporation the year before, part of which he used to establish the Council on Ideas, a biannual think-tank gathering of distinguished individuals brought together to brainstorm big ideas that can help heal the world. The Council is an operating program of the Gihon Foundation, created by Bette in 1978 for the purpose of implementing “inspired, productive ideas.” Fittingly, her son is the president and chairman of the Gihon Foundation’s board of trustees."

6. Mike, 'cause he's 'the tallest and the strongest.'
Also a really interesting guy. Hard to say whether being in the Monkees helped him or held him back.

7. To truly answer this question, you need to leave the 60's and listen to their "reunion" material.

Monkees with Mike Nesmith, 1997 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M9seJMGfIHU

any questions where the talent was in this band?

9. Mike... no doubt about it.
And, if you're not aware of it yet, check out Nesmusic-- an album he put out in the eighties, it's chalk full of tasty, musical goodness.

As for some singles, the two that stand out my mind are 'Rio' and 'Joanna'. Both are excellent toe-tappers!

10. Mike had a TV special... about 20 years ago
Lots of silly comedy stuff. I kept thinking to myself "this is stupid. Why am I laughing my ass off?"

The humor just struck me where it counts. My neighbor watched it too, and felt the same way.

Besides, I always thought Mike was the coolest. Next would be Mickey.

I'm old enough to remember when the TV show was first aired. We bought the albums. Still love the music.
